Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the flare-up down.
Hands-on techniques calm what’s flaring right now, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The stiffness when you stand up from the couch. The twinge that decides whether today’s a good day. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Over months, or years, the original cause of your back pain rarely stays the only thing going on. Compensation patterns set in. Muscles guard the area long after they need to. Deconditioning creeps in from moving less. Treat just “the back” at this point, and you’re only addressing part of what’s keeping the cycle going.
That’s exactly why a real cause-first evaluation matters even more here. You’ve probably already tried the generic stretching sheet. It didn’t hold. You’ve already tried the easy fixes. That’s not failure, that’s proof you’ve been taking this seriously the whole time. This time, you get one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, sorting out what’s actually still driving your pain, not another handout.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. For a long-standing back, that’s typically 10–14 weeks, not indefinite management.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm what’s flaring right now, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–7
Prime
Targeted mobility work unwinds the stiffness and compensation patterns your back has built up over time.
Weeks 7–12
Perform
Progressive strengthening rebuilds the stability and strength that slipped away while you were guarding your back.
Weeks 12+
Prevent
A sustainable, long-term plan so this doesn’t own your life again: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
Dr Brad made such a difference in the pain level from a back injury. He explained how and why the pain was affecting me and showed me exercises and stretches to alleviate any pain between appointments. Very knowledgeable and clearly wants to help people live a happier, healthier life.

Questions, Answered
That’s a fair question, and it’s the right one to ask. A lot of care for back pain treats the symptom in the moment: a massage that loosens things up, an adjustment that resets a joint, exercises off a generic sheet. Those can help for a while, but if the actual cause was never identified, the same pattern comes back. We start every case with a real cause-first evaluation, and you’re one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, not handed off or rotated through. It’s not a repeat of what you’ve already tried. It’s what usually comes next.
No, and please don’t let how long you’ve had this talk you out of trying. Most people improve meaningfully no matter how long they’ve been dealing with it, even years. Longer-standing cases can take more time to unwind, since compensation patterns have had longer to set in, but the tissue itself is still very capable of healing and getting stronger. The years you’ve carried this aren’t a reason to stay stuck. They’re proof you’re overdue for a plan that actually targets the cause.
Longer than an acute case, and we’ll tell you that upfront instead of surprising you later. A full plan runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, and for a long-standing back that typically runs 10–14 weeks rather than the 8–10 you’d see with a fresh injury. You’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left. Clear checkpoints along the way, not an open-ended string of appointments.
