The Benefits Of Travel
All of us have some degree of wanderlust inside of us. We all want to see what exists outside of our world of 9-5 jobs, home maintenance, keeping up with appointments, and constantly being around the same old Kroger, 7/11, and neighborhood pizza shop. It’s normal to want to go eat new foods, see new things, meet new people, and break out of your routine!
Traveling benefits numerous important aspects of our lives. Therefore, if it’s something you want from life, why not get out there and start enjoying it!
According to Regions, travel helps improve your mood and outlook, stress levels, physical well-being, relationships, mental stimulation, and overall health, (Regions, The Benefits Of Travel. https://www.regions.com/Insights/Wealth/Retirement/Establishing-a-plan/traveling-in-retirement)! I couldn’t agree with Region’s information more, personally. This is why I push myself to explore my surroundings whenever I can. It’s extremely beneficial for so many reasons and something we can all be taking advantage of.
The typical excuse for not taking time to travel is a lack of time or money. As someone without much of either of those things, I can tell you that neither time or money should be a reason to succumb to the mundane. With a very limited budget and a full-time job, I have managed to travel more than the majority of other 20-somethings I know. With a goal of eventually traveling to all 50 states, I’ve managed to visit and explore Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, West Virginia, Louisiana, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, DC, and more! There is so much to be seen in Kentucky alone!
I do my best to spend my free time checking out what’s around me, because I know it’s something I benefit from. Traveling can mean venturing out to the next town over, wandering around your state’s capital, driving to a nearby state for dinner! When you genuinely want to see and experience new things, it doesn’t have to be a big, expensive, time consuming thing. You’d be surprised how much you can do in a weekend, how little money you need to spend when traveling, or how far you can get in just a few hours!
Traveling is something we all want, but it seems so unattainable. It doesn’t have to be! If you want to see new things and make neat memories, your new favorite place could be just a few hours away!
